New at our hotel is the possibility to have guided walks with one of our staff (ranger) on nearby estates. The wildlife is in abundance. You can see otters, kingfishers, birds of prey and the more common animals. Our rangers know the exciting spots as no one else.
For bird watching you are in an “Eldorado” .The coastline offers you a wide variety of seabirds. If you are lucky you might spot a Seal or an Otter.
The North Northumbrian and Berwickshire coastline boasts some beautiful walks with uncrowded beaches. You can even walk to Holy Island and visit the abbey.
For a more challenging walk, so you feel really tired in the evening, try the Lammemuir Hills with its exciting moorland.

Shooting
When autumn comes the character of Chirnside Hall and the countryside changes. The shooting parties arrive and the talk by the open fire is of quality birds and beautiful countryside.
Christian & his gamekeepers offer a great variety of game shooting and stalking. For game shooting complete parties of 6-8 guns or smaller parties can be accommodated.
For roe deer stalking Chirnside Hall is the place to be. In the past years some very good roebuck trophies have been bagged.
The great advantage of shooting at Chirnside Hall is everything is arranged “in House”. We look after the whole package. We will drive you to the estates and back and make sure your day is what you expect. In the evening the meal will be served in our private shooting room where you can analyze the day's events over a good glass of wine!
